If there was ever a reason to do a full dist-upgrade or install a fresh copy of Kali to a bare-metal box now is the time! It does require Kali 2022.1 or newer.
Kali added support for VM-like snapshots that can be accessed from the bootloader. Such an interesting concept and can’t wait to play around with it in practice. The feature is called Unkaputtbar.
There have been only a handful of times (which I’m proud of that fact) where I had to reboot into a recovery terminal and undo aptitude installs or some other configurations I modified because Kali stopped booting.
